Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Depart Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and towering baobab trees. Upon entering the park, you’ll embark on a scenic game drive along the Tarangire River, where wildlife gathers to drink—expect to see giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, lions, and more. Enjoy a picnic lunch under a shady acacia tree. In the afternoon, continue exploring the park’s diverse landscape. Later, drive to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and a relaxed overnight stay, with beautiful views of the Rift Valley.

Overnight: Lodge in Karatu

After breakfast, head to Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic gem famous for its tree-climbing lions, hippos, and vibrant birdlife including pink flamingos. Drive through groundwater forests, open grasslands, and acacia woodlands teeming with baboons and elephants. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a viewpoint overlooking the alkaline lake. In the afternoon, continue your game drive while soaking in the diverse ecosystems. Exit the park in the late afternoon and return to your lodge in Karatu to unwind and prepare for the journey to the Serengeti.

Overnight: Lodge in Karatu

Enjoy a hearty breakfast and set off for Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you travel, witness Maasai villages and expansive highlands. Enter Serengeti’s endless plains by midday and begin a game drive en route to your lodge. Look out for lions, cheetahs, elephants, and possibly the Great Migration, depending on the season. After lunch at the lodge or picnic style, enjoy an afternoon game drive through the Seronera Valley. Return to your lodge for dinner and fall asleep to the distant sounds of wildlife.

Overnight: Lodge in Central Serengeti

Spend a full day exploring the legendary Serengeti. Depart early for a sunrise game drive when predators are most active. Traverse varied habitats from river valleys to open plains, spotting herds of buffalo, elephants, lions, and graceful antelopes. Depending on the season, you may witness thousands of wildebeest during their annual migration. Enjoy a picnic lunch under an acacia tree or by a hippo pool. Continue your afternoon game drive before heading back to your lodge as the sun sets over the horizon.

Overnight: Lodge in Central Serengeti

After breakfast, enjoy one last game drive through Serengeti en route to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Marvel at wildlife along the way and pass by shifting landscapes and volcanic features. Stop for a picnic lunch before reaching the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. Settle into your lodge perched on the crater rim or nearby highlands, where the air is crisp and views are breathtaking. Relax, have dinner, and get a good night’s rest before tomorrow’s descent into the world’s largest intact caldera.

Overnight: Lodge near Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a spectacular game drive in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crater is home to over 25,000 animals including elephants, lions, black rhinos, buffalo, and flamingos. Enjoy a picnic lunch near a hippo pool before continuing your wildlife viewing across the diverse habitats. In the early afternoon, ascend the crater walls and begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the evening with unforgettable memories of your safari adventure.
