Your adventure begins after breakfast in Arusha as you drive to Tarangire National Park — famous for its large elephant herds and century-old baobab trees. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive through the park’s picturesque terrain, where you may spot lions lounging in the shade, giraffes browsing, and wildebeest marching across the dusty trails. The Tarangire River is a magnet for wildlife, especially during the dry season.
After breakfast, depart for the world-renowned Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Highlands. You’ll arrive in the Serengeti by midday and begin your first game drive across its iconic plains. Keep your eyes open for lions, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, and large herds of wildebeest and zebra. As the sun sets, you’ll head to your lodge in the central Serengeti to relax and enjoy dinner under the African sky.
Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti’s vast and varied habitats. Early morning and late afternoon game drives provide the best opportunities for spotting predators on the hunt and grazers at the waterholes. Depending on the time of year, you may witness parts of the Great Migration, one of nature’s most incredible wildlife spectacles. Picnic lunch in the wild allows you to maximize your game viewing hours. Return to your lodge for a restful evening.
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive en route out of Serengeti. Keep watch for final glimpses of the big cats or rare animals like servals or bat-eared foxes. You’ll continue through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with optional stops at Maasai villages or the Olduvai Gorge (entry optional). Arrive near the crater rim in the late afternoon and settle into your lodge, surrounded by highland forest and scenic views.
Rise early for a once-in-a-lifetime descent into the Ngorongoro Crater a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s best places to see the Big Five. The crater’s unique ecosystem supports a dense concentration of wildlife, including rhinos, lions, hippos, buffalo, flamingos, and more. After an exciting game drive and picnic lunch on the crater floor, ascend and return to Arusha, where your safari ends. Optional transfer to the airport or hotel.
