After an early breakfast in Arusha, your guide will pick you up and begin the scenic two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Once inside the park, enjoy a full morning and afternoon game drive through landscapes dotted with ancient baobabs and acacia woodlands. This park is renowned for its large elephant populations, but you’ll also spot giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, lions, and an impressive variety of birds.
Around midday, stop at a designated picnic site for lunch in the bush, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wild. In the late afternoon, exit the park and head toward a campsite near Lake Manyara or Karatu, where your crew will set up camp. Enjoy a freshly cooked dinner around the campfire and fall asleep to the sounds of the African night.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
Wake early for breakfast, then drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the famous Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest unbroken caldera. Inside the crater, you’ll embark on a half-day game drive, with excellent chances of spotting the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. The crater floor is a wildlife paradise, also home to hyenas, hippos, flamingos, jackals, and more.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool picnic site, soaking in views of wildlife just a few meters away. After lunch, ascend the crater walls and begin your return journey to Arusha, arriving by late afternoon.
